Pride foundation seeks vehicle donation for Safe House
LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – Lake Community Pride Foundation, a local nonprofit group, is in need of a car for its teen Safe House.
The foundation makes great efforts in the community to provide for the youth by supporting the performing arts of Lower Lake High School and offering shelter to teenagers who do not have the luxury of having a place to call home.
In addition, the organization is responsible for events such as the Power to the Youth and the Safe House Golf Tournament, all of which are events that support the youth.
The Safe House, a homeless teen shelter, currently is at capacity, housing five teenagers.
The shelter's counselors are ensuring the necessary atmosphere and life skills needed to help these teenagers succeed in school and to prepare for their future endeavors.
One recent resident of the Safe House wrote: “The first night that I stayed at the safe house I slept better than all of the 18 years with my parents; each night was as safe and warm as the next.”
Over the past five years, the Safe House has helped more than 50 young adults graduate from high school and move on to their future goals.
Many success stories have been written, proving that it is a beacon of light for those who may have been lost had the Safe House not been there.
Currently, the Safe House requires a vehicle in order to provide transportation to the young tenants for school functions, volunteer activities, job opportunities, grocery shopping and any emergency that may occur.
The Safe House is searching for a reliable vehicle that can used by the counselors of the Safe House.
If you are able to donate a vehicle, the donation will be tax-deductible, and the donor will receive the Honorary Citizen Award from Lake Community Pride Foundation for helping out the youth in Lake County.
