NICE, Calif. – The Lake County Democratic Party will hold a Democratic candidate event, “Our Community, Our Voice, Our Vote,” on Saturday, May 5.
The event will take place from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Sons of Italy Hall, 2817 E. Highway 20 in Nice.
In honor of Cinco De Mayo there will be Mexican food and a “no host bar” by the Sons of Italy.
There also will be a silent auction with interesting and fun items on which to bid.
Special guests planning to attend are Congressman John Garamendi, candidate for the new Congressional District 3; Assemblymember Mariko Yamada, candidate for State Assembly District 4.
There also will be local Democratic candidates, including Victoria Brandon, candidate for Lake County Board of Supervisors' District 1 seat; Anthony Farrington, who represents District 4 on the Board of Supervisors and is seeking re-election, and his challenger, Fred Langston; Joan Moss, candidate for the Board of Supervisors' District 5 seat, as well as Lake County Superior Court Department 1 judicial candidates Judy Conard, Mike Friel, Susan Krones and Mike Lunas.
Sponsors include Congressman Mike Thompson, state Senator Noreen Evans, State Assemblymember Wes Chesbro, state Assemblymember Mariko Yamada, Olga Martin Steele and Mary Heare Amodio.
Tickets for the event are $15 in advance and $20 at the door.
