LAKEPORT, Calif. — The city of Lakeport's fall street sweeping schedule has been released.

The schedule is as follows.

Mondays: Clear Lake Avenue to north city limit boundary.

Tuesdays: First Street to south city limit boundary including the Esplanade neighborhood, Lupoyoma Heights, Lakeport Boulevard and Parallel Drive.

Wednesdays: Second Street to Clear Lake Avenue.

Thursdays: Main Street and Downtown area.

Fridays: Streets that were missed and any areas needing special attention. (No street sweeping every other Friday).

Reminders:

— Blowing leaves into the street is acceptable, but please do not put them in piles as the streetsweeper cannot sweep up piles of leaves. The city encourages residents to utilize their weekly green waste service.

— The street sweeper will not operate on Nov. 11, Nov. 24 through 26, as well as Dec. 23 through Jan. 1, 2022.

— This schedule is provided for the city of Lakeport and will remain in effect for the fall season only. The city’s sweeper also operates on an “as needed ” basis at other times to maintain city streets when leaves and debris accumulate.

— Please be advised that there may be minor interruptions to the schedule from time to time due to city workloads and availability of manpower.

Caltrans has released the final version of its 2021 Interregional Transportation Strategic Plan, or ITSP, a highway and rail improvement plan to prioritize and develop transportation projects that connect the state’s different regions and move people and goods more safely, efficiently and sustainably.

“Caltrans envisions a transportation system that fits the unique needs of all areas and people of our state,” said Caltrans Director Toks Omishakin. “Forward-thinking plans like this provide a roadmap to meeting our sustainability and equity goals while safely and efficiently getting both people and goods where they need to go.”

Updated every five years, the 2021 ITSP focuses on enhancements to key highway and rail corridors connecting different regions throughout the state to expand travel options, improve safety and accessibility, ensure the efficient movement of goods, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and fortify transportation infrastructure to be more resilient to the impacts of climate change.

These policies and goals align with other recent statewide plans — including the Climate Action Plan for Transportation Infrastructure, California Transportation Plan 2050, California Freight Mobility Plan 2020 and the 2018 California State Rail Plan — to form a comprehensive strategy for a safe, equitable, sustainable, accessible and resilient transportation system.

Caltrans will implement the 2021 ITSP to guide investments and prioritize interregional projects while coordinating with local agency partners and public stakeholders.

The adopted 2021 ITSP, along with responses to public comments on the draft plan released in August, can be found at the Caltrans ITSP home page.
