NICE, Calif. – Nice Mutual Water Co. will hold its annual shareholders meeting on Saturday, June 15.

The meeting will begin at 1 p.m. at the water company, 3246 Lakeshore Blvd.

Three director positions are up for election.

If you are interested in running for a director’s position and are a shareholder in the Nice Water District, please submit to the water company a short candidate’s statement by May 17.

KELSEYVILLE, Calif. – At its April 18 meeting the Konocti Lioness Club inducted three new members.

Joining the group were Jane Green, Kathy Clements and Dorothy Martinez.

Also at the meeting, Lakeshore Lioness members Lydia Pogue and Kirstin Spraktes joined Konocti Lioness Club President Anna Jones in presenting a $100 donation to Lakeshore Lioness Aggie Berry for the PAWS fundraiser, “A Walk for Fun,” which was held on Saturday, April 27. The Lakeshore  Lioness Club helped raise funds for this special event.

LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – The Anderson Marsh Interpretive Association is pleased to welcome Gordon Haggitt as the newest member of its board of directors.

“Gordon is the grandson of one of the original Anderson family members who first settled in Lake County at what was to become the Anderson Ranch,” explained AMIA President Roberta Lyons.

“The AMIA Board is excited about his participation,” said Board Treasurer Henry Bornstein. “Gordon’s knowledge, experience and energy will greatly contribute to our efforts to continue to insure that this unique place remains open and accessible to the public.”

AMIA is a nonprofit association formed in 1984. The Association partners with the California Department of Parks and Recreation to help protect the cultural and natural resources contained within Anderson Marsh State Historic Park and Natural Preserve and to promote educational and interpretive activities at the Park.

Anderson Marsh State Historic Park is located on Highway 53, between Lower Lake and Clearlake.

LUCERNE, Calif. – A caregiver support group for families dealing with memory loss or other cognitive impairments will meet on Thursday, May 2.

The group meets at the First Lutheran Church, 3863 Country Club Drive, across from the Lucerne Alpine Senior Center, from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Social worker Jenny Johnson is the facilitator.  

The groups are sponsored by Redwood Caregiver Resource Center (1-800-834-1636) and the Social Day Programs in Lake County.

UPPER LAKE, Calif. – The Lake County As club will host its Vintage Car Show on Friday, May 3.

The show will take place in downtown Upper Lake, and will offer food and fun.

Starting at 1 p.m. there will be a DJ offering music, with live music starting at 5:30 p.m.

Organizers say Model As will be arriving from all points of Northern California and will be on display for the general public.

LUCERNE, Calif. – The Lake County Democratic Club will hold its regular meeting at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 11, in the Rose Room of the Lucerne Alpine Senior Center.

Scott De Leon will speak in regards to the Lake County Quagga Mussel Prevention Program.

Lake County Democratic Club meetings are held on the second Saturday of the month at 11 a.m. in the Rose Room of the Lucerne Alpine Senior Center.

The public is always welcome and membership is open to all registered Democrats.

The senior center is located at 3985 Country Club Drive, corner of 10th and Country Club Drive, in Lucerne.
