LAKEPORT, Calif. — The city of Lakeport's fall street sweeping schedule has been released.

The schedule is as follows.

Mondays: Clear Lake Avenue to north city limit boundary.

Tuesdays: First Street to south city limit boundary including the Esplanade neighborhood, Lupoyoma Heights, Lakeport Boulevard and Parallel Drive.

Wednesdays: Second Street to Clear Lake Avenue.

Thursdays: Main Street and Downtown area.

Fridays: Streets that were missed and any areas needing special attention. (No street sweeping every other Friday).

Reminders:

— Blowing leaves into the street is acceptable, but please do not put them in piles as the streetsweeper cannot sweep up piles of leaves. The city encourages residents to utilize their weekly green waste service.

— The street sweeper will not operate on Nov. 11, Nov. 24 through 26, as well as Dec. 23 through Jan. 1, 2022.

— This schedule is provided for the city of Lakeport and will remain in effect for the fall season only. The city’s sweeper also operates on an “as needed ” basis at other times to maintain city streets when leaves and debris accumulate.

— Please be advised that there may be minor interruptions to the schedule from time to time due to city workloads and availability of manpower.

Caltrans has released the final version of its 2021 Interregional Transportation Strategic Plan, or ITSP, a highway and rail improvement plan to prioritize and develop transportation projects that connect the state’s different regions and move people and goods more safely, efficiently and sustainably.

“Caltrans envisions a transportation system that fits the unique needs of all areas and people of our state,” said Caltrans Director Toks Omishakin. “Forward-thinking plans like this provide a roadmap to meeting our sustainability and equity goals while safely and efficiently getting both people and goods where they need to go.”

Updated every five years, the 2021 ITSP focuses on enhancements to key highway and rail corridors connecting different regions throughout the state to expand travel options, improve safety and accessibility, ensure the efficient movement of goods, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and fortify transportation infrastructure to be more resilient to the impacts of climate change.

These policies and goals align with other recent statewide plans — including the Climate Action Plan for Transportation Infrastructure, California Transportation Plan 2050, California Freight Mobility Plan 2020 and the 2018 California State Rail Plan — to form a comprehensive strategy for a safe, equitable, sustainable, accessible and resilient transportation system.

Caltrans will implement the 2021 ITSP to guide investments and prioritize interregional projects while coordinating with local agency partners and public stakeholders.

The adopted 2021 ITSP, along with responses to public comments on the draft plan released in August, can be found at the Caltrans ITSP home page.

LAKE COUNTY, Calif. — The Lake County Public Services Department announced that the Eastlake Landfill and the Public Services Office will be closed Monday, Oct. 11, in observance of National Indigenous People’s Day.

The Eastlake Landfill and the Public Services office will reopen at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 12.

Regular operating hours at the landfill are 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

The Public Services Office is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

LAKE COUNTY, Calif. — Elections officials said voters who have received a “signature verification statement” or an “unsigned ballot envelope statement” for the Sept. 14 California Gubernatorial Recall Election have until 5 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 12, to return them.

The Lake County Registrar of Voters Office plans to certify the gubernatorial recall results on Thursday.

The elections office must receive the completed signature verification statements or unsigned ballot envelope statement forms either by mail service, fax, email or in person by 5 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 12.

Please be aware that the Lake County Registrar of Voters cannot count a voter’s vote-by-mail ballot if the completed and signed statement is not returned by the deadline.

Highway 20

— Slide removal two miles west of Three Chop Road will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays.

Highway 101

— Slide removal from Comminsky Station Road to Pieta Creek Bridge will continue. Northbound Lane closures will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate five-minute delays.

— Bridge work from the Presswood Overhead Bridge to the Hensley Creek Undercrossing will continue. Northbound and Southbound lane closures will be in effect overnight from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Motorists should anticipate minimal delays.

— Emergency bridge repairs at the North State Undercrossing Bridge will continue. There will be a full closure of the Northbound onramp overnight from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Motorists are advised to take alternative routes.

— Construction south of Ridgewood Ranch Road will continue. Lane closures will be in effect in both directions. Motorists should anticipate minor traffic slowdowns.

— Utility work from McDaniel Slough to K Street will begin on Friday, October 8. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Motorists should anticipate minor traffic slowdowns.

Highway 299

— Bridge work at the 200 or North Bank Road junction will continue. Lane closures will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate minor traffic slowdowns.

LAKE COUNTY, Calif. — County officials are asking community members with an interest in Mount Konocti County Park to participate in an upcoming meeting.

On Wednesday, Oct. 20, Lake County Parks & Recreation will host a community meeting to solicit input for potential improvements and increased recreational opportunities for Mount Konocti County Park.

The meeting will be held at 6 p.m. at the Kelseyville Elementary School multi-use room at 5065 Konocti Road, Kelseyville.
