KELSEYVILLE, Calif. – Rosa D’Oro Vineyards will be host the annual Venetian Carnival Masquerade Party on Friday, Feb. 17.


Wear a mask and enter the contest at the annual event, held in the tasting room of Rosa D’Oro Vineyards in downtown Kelseyville from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.


Guests will enjoy food, wine tasting and fun.


Prizes will be awarded for masks.


Admission is $15.

KELSEYVILLE, Calif. – The annual Wine & Chocolate fundraiser will be held on Saturday, Feb. 11.


It will take place from noon to 4 p.m. at Mt. Konocti Growers, 2550 Big Valley Road, Kelseyville.


There will be an extensive offering of ultra-premium Lake County wines and for the first time this year, local beer brewers.


All wines will be masterfully paired with luscious chocolates and other tasty food bites by Sommelier Stephanie Green, owner of Focused on Wine in Kelseyville.


Green will lead workshops on wine sensory and pairing food with wines and a variety of other classes and demonstrations will be held, such as olive oil sensory, chocolate demonstrations and biodynamic vineyards.


Support Lake Family Resource Center programs and services while enjoying wine, beer, chocolate, food, music, wine- and olive oil-related workshops, wine store and silent auction.


The cost is $35 per person in advance; $40 at the door.

LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – Local photographer Ron Keas, known for his 3D photography, and who is frequently featured in Lake County News' “Picture of the Day” feature, is offering a slideshow screensaver of his work as a gift to community members.


The screensaver contains more than 150 scenes of Keas' Lake County photography, with transition effects and background music.

KELSEYVILLE, Calif. – The Kelseyville Olive Festival will take place Sunday, March 18.


The event will take place at Chasewater Wine Co. & Olive Mill, 5625 Gaddy Lane, Kelseyville, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.


This celebration of locally grown olives will introduce guests to the olive oil and olive products produced from Lake County olives.


It's presented by Rosa D’Oro Vineyards and the Chasewater Wine Company & Olive Mill, which is located on a 10-acre olive orchard – formerly the St. Gregory Olive Farm – with 3,000 olive trees.


This family-friendly event also features an olive pit spitting contest, as well as olive oil tasting workshops by a certified olive oil taster, food demonstrations, local wine and beer tasting, hula hoop contest, arts and crafts booths, and silent auction.


Admission is free; there is a fee for wine tasting.

LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – Lake County Public Service Director Caroline Chavez announced that the Eastlake Landfill will be closed Sunday, Jan. 1, 2012, and the Lakeport Public Services office will be closed Monday, Jan. 2, 2012 for the New Year’s holiday.


The landfill will re-open Monday, Jan. 2, 2012, and the Public Services Office will open Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2012.


Normal operating hours at the landfill are 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily.


The Public Services office is normally open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
