LAKEPORT, Calif. – The Lakeport Parks and Recreation Commission will hold its next regular meeting at 3 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 12.


The commission will meet in the council chambers at Lakeport City Hall, 225 Park St.


Commissioners are Lynn Andre, Cindy Ustrud, Ronald Bertsch, Ann Blue and Suzanne Russell.


There will be reports on Library Park, Westside Park and Westshore Pool.


The commission also will set its next regular meeting for 3 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 9.

LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – The Lake County Doll Club meets on the second Tuesday of the month at selected locations around the lake.


The club's next meeting will take place on Jan. 10.


The group shares dolls, has interesting programs on different doll origins and occasionally meets with other doll clubs.


The club is always pleased when new members join.


Lunch is served by the hostess or a potluck is shared by the members.

CLEARLAKE OAKS, Calif. – The Lake County Computer Users group will meet on Saturday, Jan. 7.


The meeting will take place at the Live Oak Senior Center, 12502 Foothill Blvd., Clearlake Oaks.


Doors open at 9 a.m. with coffee available. Members are encouraged to bring breakfast finger foods to share.


Judy Grindle will take a look at the improved Mozy Home 2.0 online backup solution, which now allows simultaneous local backups.

 

They also will take a first look at the word processor in Open Office or the similar Libre Office to see what advantages it has compared to Wordpad, and to check how well it reads Word or Wordpad .doc files.

 

The group will explore answers to questions posed at the last meeting: how to add a copyright symbol and your name to your photo; how to restrict the use of photos you upload to Picasa Web Albums; and how to archive your e-mail to a CD/ DVD.

 

They will address other PC problems or questions, so make a list and they will do their best to help you find a solution.

LAKEPORT, Calif. – Clear Lake Trowel & Trellis Garden Club will hold a general meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 17.


The meeting will be held at Scotts Valley Women's Club House, 2298 Hendricks Road, Lakeport.


The board meeting begins at 11 a.m.


Social time starts at noon, with flower roll call at 12:30 p.m.


The general meeting will begin at 1 p.m. to be followed by a program by Leslie Jones called “Bling Recyclable.”


The club meets at noon on the third Tuesday of the month – except July and August – at the Scotts Valley Women's Club House.

KELSEYVILLE, Calif. – The Clear Lake Road Riders motorcycle group will hold its monthly meeting from Wednesday, Jan. 4.


The group will meet at Kelseyville Pizza, 5285 State St.


Dinner will take place at 6 p.m., with the meeting to begin at 7 p.m.


The Clear Lake Road Riders meets the first Wednesday of each month.
