KELSEYVILLE, Calif. – On Saturday, June 22, the Ely Stage Stop will celebrate the arrival of summer with a fun-filled day on the wraparound porch looking out on Mt. Konocti.

The fun begins at 11 a.m. and continues until 3 p.m.

Enjoy a delicious seasonal box lunch from Rosey Cooks and view Barbara White’s fascinating “Day in the Life” period fashion display.

The main house will offer teapot and apron displays while an agricultural equipment exhibition in the new barn will feature little seen pieces of historical equipment.

Hear live music of the Stage Coach Era performed by Don Coffin, joined by other local musicians.

Silent auction items and raffle baskets will be highlights. Bring your own wine to sip in Ely Stage Stop wine glasses, which will be available for purchase.

Seating is limited so reserve now.

The museum is located at 9921 Soda Bay Road (Highway 281) in Kelseyville.

Note: This fundraiser event is not to be confused with the Lake County Historical Society Annual Picnic potluck which will be hosted at the Stage Stop on the following weekend.

LAKEPORT, Calif. – The Lake County Fair Board will hold a regular meeting on Monday, June 24.

The board will meet beginning at 4:45 p.m. in the administration office at the fairgrounds, 401 Martin St., Lakeport.

Agenda topics will include a report from Chief Executive Officer Richard Persons; an update on this year's new Spring Fair; the fall county fair times, admission prices, carnival and grandstand entertainment; and a discussion on the property insurance pool.

There also will be reports from fair committees, a letter from the Kelseyville High School class of 2014, a letter from Lake County Tobacco Education Program and the July calendar of events.

The fair board's next meeting is scheduled for Monday, July 22.

LUCERNE, Calif. – A caregiver support group for families dealing with memory loss or other cognitive impairments will meet on Thursday, June 20.

The group meets at the First Lutheran Church, 3863 Country Club Drive across from the Lucerne Alpine Senior Center, from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Social worker Jenny Johnson is the facilitator.  

The group is sponsored by Redwood Caregiver Resource Center (1-800-834-1636) and the Social Day Programs in Lake County.

KELSEYVILLE, Calif. – The Lake County Historical Society will enjoy its annual potluck picnic at Ely Stage Stop & Country Museum on Sunday, June 30, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Join them to relax and break bread together.  

The speaker will be Dr. Harry Lyons, talking on “How Did Here Get Here: The History of Lake County Geology.”

The Ely Stage Stop & Country Museum is located at 9921 Soda Bay Road, Kelseyville.  

For people going north on Highway 29 toward Kelseyville, turn right on Highway 281 (Soda Bay Road at Kit’s Corner); go about one mile and turn left into the driveway, follow the driveway to the parking area.  

For people going south on Highway 29 toward Lower Lake, turn left on Highway 281 (Soda Bay Road at Kit’s Corner); go about one mile and turn left into the driveway, follow the driveway to the parking area.

They will have their picnic in the new barn.

The society will supply hamburgers, hot dogs, buns and light refreshments. Please bring a dish to share, a plate, utensils and a chair for each person with you. Please, if your dish needs to be cold keep it on ice.

Come, relax and enjoy. Bring your friends. There is a $5 donation for guests 18 and older to defray expenses. The $5 will go toward membership if you decide to join at the picnic.

LAKEPORT, Calif. – Lake County Genealogical Society will hold its annual picnic Saturday, June 22.

The event takes place in the park at Highlands Springs starting at noon.

Attendees are asked to bring a lawn chair and a potluck dish to share. Plates, cups, silverware, ice tea and water will be provided.  

Come and enjoy a relaxing time talking to other researchers. Your whole family is invited.
