NORTH COAST – Caltrans reports that the following road projects will be taking place around Lake County during the coming week.
Included are Mendocino County projects that may impact Lake County commuters.
LAKE COUNTY
Highway 20
– A project to add turnouts from the Blue Lake Motel to Witter Springs Road will continue. Work hours are 6 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., weekdays. A shoulder closure will be in effect. Motorists are advised to drive with caution through the area and may experience minor traffic slowdowns. Contractor – Team Ghilotti of Petaluma.
– A highway widening project from Government Street to Rancheria Road will continue. Work hours are 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., weekdays. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate
20-minute delays. Contractor – Argonaut Constructors of Santa Rosa.
– Caltrans will perform routine maintenance from Bruner Drive to the entrance of Paradise Cove beginning Wednesday, July 22. Work hours are 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Thursday. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays.
– A project to add turnouts from 0.1 mile east of Diane Court to 0.2 mile west of Catholic Church Road will continue. Work hours are 6 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., weekdays. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays. Contractor – Team Ghilotti of Petaluma.
– Caltrans will perform routine maintenance from Sulfur Bank Drive to 0.3 mile west of Catholic Church Road on Monday, July 20, and Tuesday, July 21. Work hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate five-minute delays.
– A roadway realignment project from 1.4 miles east of the North Fork Cache Creek Bridge to 1.6 miles west of Walker Ridge Road will continue. Work hours are 6 a.m. to 7 p.m., weekdays. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate 20-minute delays. Contractor – Argonaut Constructors of Santa Rosa.
Highway 29
– Bridge deck repairs at Kelseyville Creek Bridge will continue. Work hours are 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., Sunday evening through Friday morning. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate 15-minute delays. Contractor – DeBruin Construction Inc. Of Stockton.
Highway 175
– Caltrans will perform routine maintenance from the Lake/Mendocino County line to the junction of Route 29/175 near Lakeport. Work hours are 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Thursday. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays.
– A pavement sealing project from the junction of Route 29/175 near Kelseyville to Kelsey Creek will continue. Work hours are 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., weekdays. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays. Contractor – Northwest Paving of Redding.
MENDOCINO COUNTY
Highway 1
– Construction of a retaining wall about three miles north of Elk will continue. One-way traffic control with a temporary signal will be in effect 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Motorists should
anticipate 10-minute delays. Contractor – Granite Construction of Ukiah.
– The city of Fort Bragg has been granted a Caltrans Encroachment Permit for sidewalk and sewer upgrades from Walnut Street to Pine Avenue. Work hours are 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., weekdays. Southbound traffic will be restricted to one lane. Motorists may experience minor traffic slowdowns.
Highway 20
– A highway widening project from Trailer Cove Road to 0.1 mile east of Gravel Pitt Road will continue through Friday, July 17. Work hours are 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., weekdays. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays. Contractor – Argonaut Constructors of Santa Rosa.
– Bridge deck repairs at the Redwood Valley Undercrossing will continue through Friday, July 17. Work hours are 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., Sunday evening through Friday morning. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate 15-minute delays. Contractor – DeBruin Construction, Inc. of Stockton.
– A project to install rumble strips from 0.6 mile east of Potter Valley Road to the Cold Creek Bridge #4 will begin Monday, July 20. Work hours are 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., weekdays. One-way traffic control
will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate 20-minute delays. Contractor – Linear Options of Menlo Park.
Highway 101
– Comcast of Ukiah has been granted a Caltrans Encroachment Permit for an aerial crossing at Happy Lane on Wednesday, July 22. Work hours are 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Intermittent full road closures will be
in effect. Motorists should anticipate five-minute delays.
– Storm damage repair from 0.5 mile north of the Mendocino/Sonoma County line 1.6 miles south of East Side Road will begin Monday, July 20. Traffic will be restricted to one lane in each direction of travel 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Motorists may experience minor traffic slowdowns. Contractor – North Bay Construction of Petaluma.
– Bridge deck repairs at the Hopland Overhead Bridge will continue through Friday, July 17. Work hours are 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., Sunday evening through Friday morning. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate 15-minute delays. Contractor – DeBruin Construction Inc. of Stockton.
– Roadway repair due to pavement deterioration and a slipout from 1.1 miles north of Reeves Canyon Road to Ridgewood Ranch Road will continue. Work hours are 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., weekdays. Traffic will be restricted to one lane in each direction of travel 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Motorists may experience minor traffic slowdowns. During work hours southbound traffic will experience intermittent road closures, and motorist should anticipate five-minute delays. Contractor – North Bay

– A pavement repair project from Big Trails Drive to the Long Valley Creek Bridge will continue. Work hours are 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., weekdays. Traffic will be restricted to one lane in each direction of travel. Motorists may experience minor traffic slowdowns. Contractor – Windsor Fuel Co. of Pittsburg.
– A culvert replacement project 0.7 mile south of the junction of Route 1/101 will begin Thursday, July 23. Work hours are 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., weekdays. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists
should anticipate five-minute delays. Contractor – Robert J. Frank Construction Inc. of Redding.
Highway 128
– A culvert replacement project 2.7 miles west of the Shearing Creek Bridge will continue through Friday, July 17. Work hours are 6 a.m. to 7 p.m., weekdays. One-way traffic control will be in effect.
Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays. Contractor – Coast Construction Inc. of San Rafael.
– A culvert replacement project 0.9 mile east of the Dry Creek Bridge will begin Friday, July 17. Work hours are 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., weekdays. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should

Highway 162
– A pavement sealing project from the junction of Route 101/162 to the Bloody Run Creek Bridge will continue. Work hours are 6 a.m. to 3 p.m., weekdays. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate five-minute delays. Contractor – Northern California Paving Inc. of Yreka.
Highway 271
– A culvert replacement project 2.0 miles south of the Humboldt/Mendocino County line will occur on Tuesday, July 21, and Wednesday, July 22. Work hours are 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. One-way traffic control
will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate five-minute delays. Contractor – Coast Construction Inc. of San Rafael.
