CLEARLAKE, Calif. – A meet and greet for several candidates in the June primary will be held on Monday, May 12.

The event will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. at 14530 Lakeshore Drive in Clearlake, the location of the office of Joyce Overton, candidate for the District 2 seat on the Board of Supervisors.

Featured candidates will be Bill Dodd, State Assembly; Sorhna Li Jordan, assessor-recorder; Frank Rivero, sheriff; and Brock Falkenberg, Lake County superintendent of schools.

There will be snacks and drinks, and music by Melissa and Fred.

NORTH COAST, Calif. – Caltrans reports that the following road projects will be taking place around the North Coast during the coming week.

Included are Mendocino County projects that may impact Lake County commuters.

LAKE COUNTY

Highway 20

– PG&E of Eureka has been issued a Caltrans Encroachment permit for utility repairs from Harvey Boulevard to Mitchell Road on Tuesday, May 13. Work hours are 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate five-minute delays.

MENDOCINO COUNTY

Highway 1

– Verizon of Weaverville has been issued a Caltrans Encroachment permit for utility repairs from just north of Stonebord Road to the Alder Creek Bridge beginning Monday, May 12. Work hours are 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., weekdays. A shoulder closure will be in effect. Motorists may experience minor traffic slowdowns.

– PG&E of Ukiah has been issued a Caltrans Encroachment permit for utility repairs 2.2 miles south of the Elk Creek Bridge on Wednesday, May 14. Work hours are 2 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Intermittent full road closures will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate five-minute delays.

– Replacement of the Greenwood Creek Bridge will continue. One-way traffic control with a temporary signal will be in effect 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Motorists should anticipate five-minute delays.

– PG&E of Eureka has been issued a Caltrans Encroachment permit for utility repairs at the Wages Creek Bridge on Monday, May 12. Work hours are 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate 15-minute delays.

Highway 20

– Sidewalk enhancements from the junction of Routes 1/20 and Boatyard Drive will continue. Work hours are 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., weekdays. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate five-minute delays.

– Bridge repairs at the Russian River Overhead will continue. Nighttime work hours are 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., Monday evening through Friday morning. One way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate five-minute delays.

Highway 101

– Caltrans will perform slide repairs near the Korean War Veterans Memorial Bridge (near Frog Woman Rock). Northbound traffic will be restricted to one lane 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Motorists may experience minor traffic slowdowns.

– Highway construction from 1.0 mile south of the Haehl Overhead Bridge to the Haehl Overhead Bridge will continue. Nighttime work hours are 5 p.m. to 7 a.m., weekdays. Intermittent full road closures will be in effect to allow trucks to enter and exit the highway. Motorists should anticipate five-minute delays.

– Restriping just south of the junction of Routes 20/101 in Willits will continue Monday, May 12. Nighttime work hours are 10 p.m. to 10 a.m. Traffic will be restricted to one lane in each direction of travel. Motorists may experience minor traffic slowdowns.

– Highway construction from 0.8 to 1.5 miles south of the North Willits Railroad Crossing will continue. Nighttime work hours are 5 p.m. to 7 a.m., weekdays. Intermittent full road closures will be in effect to allow trucks to enter and exit the highway. Motorists should anticipate five-minute delays.

Highway 162

– Bridge rehabilitation at the Rodeo Creek Bridge will continue. Work hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., weekdays. One way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate five-minute delays.

Highway 175

– Bridge rehabilitation at the Russian River Bridge will continue. One-way traffic control with a temporary signal will be in effect 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Motorists should anticipate five-minute delays.

Highway 253

– PG&E of Eureka has been issued a Caltrans Encroachment permit for utility repairs at Robinson Creek Road on Monday, May 12, and Tuesday, May 13. Work hours are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate five-minute delays.

The Caltrans Traffic Operations Office has reviewed each project and determined that individual project delays are expected to be less than the statewide policy maximum of 30 minutes, unless noted otherwise above.

LAKEPORT, Calif. – The Green Party of Lake County's meeting on Sunday, May 18, will feature candidates for the upcoming elections.

The meeting will be from 4 to 7 p.m. at Round Table Pizza in the Safeway shopping center on 11th Street in Lakeport. No host food and drink will be available.

Joyce Overton, who is running for the District 2 seat on the Board of Supervisors, will speak first, followed by two of the candidates for assessor-recorder.

There will be a discussion of Measure L, the lake sales tax, with a pro and con presentation.

Members will vote on endorsements of candidates for the June 3 election.

LAKEPORT, Calif. – The Lakeport Public Works Department reported that it is planning a road closure Thursday afternoon for repair work.

The closure will take place on N. Sixth Street from N. Brush Street to N. High Street in order for a crew to conduct a water leak repair.
