Sons In Retirement group plans spring activities
LAKEPORT, Calif. – Now that we are officially into spring, Branch 168 of the Sons In Retirement (SIR) has a full slate of activities planned for the coming months.
On Thursday, April 11, they will enjoy a “Day at the Races” at Golden Gate Fields. The trip includes bus transportation, a full lunch at the “Turf Club,” admission and program. Spouses and significant others are welcome to join in the fun.
Also in April, SIR will start the golf season off with a scramble played at the Windsor Golf Course on April 10th.
Two weeks later on April 24, they will play a four man two best ball tournament at the Aetna Springs course.
Jim Cary, the golf chairman for branch 133 and 168, has organized the schedule for the remainder of the year which includes golf tournaments in Reno June 11-13 and in Monterey Sept. 24-26.
These are in addition to the local tournaments that Cary has scheduled to take place about every two weeks from April through November.
Bob Specht, the travel chair, is working on plans for a trip to Reno in June to see the show “Menopause, The Musical.”
