Lake County Wine Studio to host April 11 Local Cuisine Scene
UPPER LAKE, Calif. – Shannon Michele of Cache Creek Catering and Lake County Wine Studio are presenting a monthly food and wine series featuring gourmet appetizers paired with select Lake County wines. Locally produced foods are proudly featured as key ingredients in recipes created by Cache Creek Catering.
The series is held from 5:30 to 8 p.m. on the second Friday of each month.
The per person cost is $30 and $25 for Wine Studio club members. Reservations are required.
April 11 will feature new releases and springtime inspired pairings.
The first course will be arugula, strawberry, toasted almonds and chévre salad paired with Gregory Graham Grenache, followed by lamb meatballs with cranberry-shallot pan sauce paired with the new Merlot from Thorn Hill.
The dessert course will be Lemon cupcakes with a lemon and rosemary glaze topped with whipped cream paired with Fore Family Vineyards Late Harvest Sauvignon Blanc.
The March 14 event featured an opening salad course of roasted beet, citrus and fennel paired with Steele Wines Riesling, followed by can onion, apple and bacon tart paired with Gewürztraminer from Brassfield Estate. The dessert course was walnut sables with rhubarb compote with a Riesling from Wildhurst.
May 9 will be the next date to follow for the Local Cuisine Scene event with Tuscan inspired appetizers paired with a Sangiovese vertical.
