KELSEYVILLE, Calif. – The Wave of Hope Project is a traveling exhibition of portraits and stories of persons who have come through hard times, are happy to be where they are and what they would have to say to someone who might be standing in the shoes they were once in.

A sense of alienation and loneliness are the front runners to suicide. Lake County has a tremendously high suicide rate, and this is a project designed to let people know they are not the only one who ever felt the way they do now.

These shows will travel around into public places – bus stops, pubs, grocery stores, coffee shops, senior centers, store front windows, looking for the people who need to know that they are not alone.

The project was developed by Sharon Dawson of The Dawson Studios, Middletown, and has grown in the last ten months to include 25 faces and voices of people reaching out.

In hopes of being on the walls, no later than June of this year, the fundraising efforts are in full swing right now.

The Wave of Hope Project is very grateful to the Konocti Lioness for helping try to save lives.
