CLEARLAKE, Calif. – Lake County Republican Women will meet at on Wednesday, May 14.
The meeting will take place beginning at 11:30 a.m., with lunch at noon, at the Main Street Grill, 14084 Lakeshore Dr, Clearlake.
There will be two speakers this month because of the June 3 primary election.
Assemblyman Dan Logue from the Third Assembly District and chief Republican whip is running for the Third Congressional District seat.
He is a ranking member of the influential Assembly Health Committee. He also is a member of the Assembly Budget Committee, the Elections and Redistricting Committee, the Budget Sub Committee 3, which oversees the resources and transportation components of the state budget, and he sits on the critical Assembly Transportation Committee.
The National Federation of Independent Business has awarded Logue a perfect score based on his voting record and support of small business. His widespread efforts have also drawn the attention of media outlets across the nation, including the New York Times, FOX News, and the Los Angeles Times.
Consistent with his efforts to revitalize the economy and keep jobs and businesses in California, Logue has organized the Economic Recovery Group, which meets regularly with business representatives from all sectors of California's economy to discuss ways to eliminate impediments and restrictive government regulations in order to improve our state's business climate.
Logue led the charge to organize a local veterans Memorial Committee that raised over $350,000 in private funds to construct two world class Veterans Memorials in his District.
Also speaking will be Richard Ford who would like to be the next assessor-recorder for Lake County. He is currently service as assistant auditor-controller for the county of Lake.
Ford has a master's degree in business administration from USC and has considerable experience in accounting, six years experience as a financial controller and 10 years in leading a team which are skills he will bring to the office. Rich and his wife, Ruthann, and their two young boys live in Lakeport.
