KELSEYVILLE, Calif. – Rotary Club of Kelseyville Sunrise announces tickets are now available for the annual fundraiser, Denim & Diamonds.  

The event will be held Saturday, May 3, at Chacewater Winery and Olive Mill in Kelseyville.

The dinner dance and auctions raise funds to support the many charitable activities supported by the Rotary.  

This year’s event will again feature the music of the LC Diamonds.  

The popular silent and live auction offers an opportunity to purchase valuable and unique gifts while supporting educational and community services.

Doors open at 5:30 p.m.

Ticket price is $65 per person and includes a full dinner and a glass of wine.

Tickets are on sale from Kelseyville Rotary members, the Steele Winery, at The Travel Center (Lakeport) and by calling Pamela at 707-279-4970.

LAKEPORT, Calif – The Lake County First 5 Lake Commission will hold a regular meeting on Wednesday, April 23.

The meeting will begin at 2:30 p.m. at the Child Welfare Services conference room, 1222 S. Main St. in Lakeport.

Agenda items include continuation of the review of the strategic plan and approval of the allocation of supplemental fund, the executive director's report, commissioners' reports, public comment and announcements.

NORTH COAST, Calif. – Caltrans reports that the following road projects will be taking place around the North Coast during the coming week.

Included are Mendocino County projects that may impact Lake County commuters.

LAKE COUNTY

Highway 20

– Ben's Truck and Equipment of Red Bluff has been issued a Caltrans Encroachment permit for spill cleanup 0.8 mile east of Blue Lakes Road beginning Tuesday, April 22. Work hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., weekdays. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate five-minute delays.

Highway 175

– AT&T of Santa Rosa has been issued a Caltrans Encroachment permit for utility repairs 0.4 mile east of the Putah Creek Bridge beginning Monday, April 21. Work hours are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., weekdays. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate five-minute delays.

– PG&E of Eureka has been issued a Caltrans Encroachment permit for utility repairs from Santa Rosa Avenue to the Dry Creek Bridge on Wednesday, April 23. Work hours are 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate five-minute delays.

MENDOCINO COUNTY

Highway 1

– Replacement of the Greenwood Creek Bridge will continue. One-way traffic control with a temporary signal will be in effect 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Motorists should anticipate five-minute delays.

– Replacement of a culvert with a bridge at Dunn Creek will continue. One-way traffic control with a temporary signal will be in effect 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Motorists should anticipate five-minute delays.

Highway 20

– PG&E of Eureka has been issued a Caltrans Encroachment permit for utility repairs near the Broaddus Creek Bridge on Tuesday, April 22. Work hours are 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate five-minute delays.

Highway 101

– Caltrans will perform slide repairs near the Korean War Veterans Memorial Bridge (near Frog Woman Rock). Northbound traffic will be restricted to one lane 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Motorists may experience minor traffic slowdowns.

– Bridge rehabilitation at the "green" Russian River Bridge will continue. Work hours are 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., weekdays. One way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays.

– PG&E of Eureka has been issued a Caltrans Encroachment permit for utility repairs near the Hopland Cal Fire station on Friday, April 18. Work hours are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Intermittent full road closures will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays.

Highway 128

– Vegetation removal in preparation for culvert rehabilitation near the junction of Routes 1/128 will continue through Friday, April 18. Work hours are 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., weekdays. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate five-minute delays.

– Vegetation removal in preparation for culvert rehabilitation at various locations from Wendling Street to 1.6 mile west of the Mendocino/Sonoma County line will continue. Work hours are 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., weekdays. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate five-minute delays.

– Caltrans will perform routine maintenance from Anderson Valley Way to Con Creek on Friday, April 18. Work hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays.

Highway 175

– Bridge rehabilitation at the Russian River Bridge will continue. Work hours are 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., weekdays. One way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate five-minute delays.

Highway 222

– AT&T of Eureka has been issued a Caltrans Encroachment permit for utility repairs at Hastings Frontage Road on Tuesday, April 22. Work hours are 9 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Intermittent full road closures will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays.

The Caltrans Traffic Operations Office has reviewed each project and determined that individual project delays are expected to be less than the statewide policy maximum of 30 minutes, unless noted otherwise above.

LAKEPORT, Calif. – The Lake County Fair Board will meet on Monday, April 28.

The meeting will begin at 4:45 p.m. at the administration office at the Lake County Fairgrounds, 401 Martin St., Lakeport.

Action items include gate times and prices for this year's Lake County Fair.

There also will be committee reports, and discussion of times, admission prices, carnival and grandstand entertainment for both the Spring Fair and regular fair at the end of the summer.

Fair board directors include President Janeane Bogner, Vice President Marcia Chauvin, Sham Cochrane, Annette Hopkins, Meyo Marrufo, Jerry McQueen, Carol Brandt, Dr. Paul Marchand and Doug Rhoades.

CLEARLAKE, Calif. – A meet and greet for several candidates in the June primary will be held on Monday, April 21.

The event will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. at 14530 Lakeshore Drive in Clearlake, the location of the office of Joyce Overton, candidate for the District 2 seat on the Board of Supervisors.

Featured speakers will be Bob Chalk, seeking the sheriff's seat; District Attorney Don Anderson, who is running for reelection, and Herb Gura, candidate for the District 3 seat on the Board of Supervisors.

LAKEPORT, Calif. – The Green Party of Lake County will meet from 4 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, April 20, at Round Table Pizza on 11th Street in Lakeport.

Guest speakers will be District 2 Supervisor Jeff Smith, who is seeking reelection, and Jim Brown, candidate for the District 3 seat on the Board of Supervisors.

Jenna Goodman, Green Party candidate for California lieutenant governor, also will present her platform and discuss her campaign.

The meeting is open to everyone regardless of political party. These are free informational meetings.
