LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – Mary “Kay” Katherine Ridgeway, 77, passed away peacefully on Dec. 21, 2017.

1926-2017

LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – Cedric Baker was 91 years young when he passed away from pneumonia on Dec. 11, 2017.

He was born in Montgomery, Vermont, moved to Waterbury and attended both elementary and high school there.

He joined the U.S. Navy, serving three years in World War II.

He then moved to California, met and married Martha Frances, his wife of 50 years, who passed away in 2002. They had two children, Martha Kay, who passed away as a young adult, and son, Richard, who resides in the Bay Area.

Cedric worked for 42 years for Emporium-Capwells where he retired, and he then moved to Upper Lake as a companion to longtime friend Susanne Filipiak, who also passed on.

He is survived by his son, Richard; grandson, Marvin; many nieces; and Susanne’s children, Lawrence (Lorrie) Filipiak and Stacy (Manuel) Melandrez.

He was a member of Lakeport Elks Lodge No. 2704, the Sons of Italy, a suave square dancer and an avid bowler.

His loving spirit will be missed by all who knew him.
