LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – Jeanette Anna (Kohl) Vivian passed peacefully from this earth on Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2013, at the age of 92.

She was born June 15, 1921, in St. Paul, Minnesota. At 6 months old Jeanette traveled with her family from Minnesota to California, where they settled in Oakland.

Jeanette raised her family in San Leandro, Calif., for more than 40 years. She relocated to Lake County to be with her family in 2006.

She was proceeded in death by husband, Ralph Vivian; father, Joseph Kohl; mother, Rachel (Leuzinger) Kohl; sister, Mabel and her children Buddy, Dickie and Dolly; sister, Millie and husband Floyd; sister, Gert and husband Bob; infant sister, Ana; and sister, Lorraine and husband Joe and their granddaughter Sarah; brother, Philip and wife Anna; brother, Walter and wife Thelma and their sons Raymond and Junior; brother, Earl and wife Angie and their daughter Florine; and brother, Roland (Ole) and wife Francis and their sons Terry and Tommy; best friend, Betty (Marley) Avila; and special friend, Harry Arcado.

Jeanette is survived by daughters, Linda Tellardin (Steven) and Sandra Dixon; granddaughters, Stacey Longoria, Carrie Dixon and Amy Gilbert (Kyle); step-grandson, Michael Tellardin; and great-granddaughters, Sienna Rose Longoria and Lila Jean Gilbert.

She leaves behind scores of nieces, nephews, godchildren and friends, especially those at Lakeview Housing and her Red Hat sisters and dear friend Ann Lind.

We will miss her smiling happy face. She was always kind, always faithful. Her greatest joy was her family and friendships.

Special thanks to Hospice of Lake County, Natalia Cherwin of Three Lakes Assisted Living and her doctors Schweifler and Minotti.

There will be a celebration of her remarkable life on Saturday, Nov. 16, with a rosary at 9:30 a.m. and Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Mary Immaculate Catholic Church, located at 801 N. Main St. in Lakeport, with lunch following directly after.

She was a faithful Catholic all of her life and prayed her rosary every day. Jeanette always said she wanted no flowers at her funeral, just to have Masses said for the repose of her soul.

CLEARLAKE, Calif. – Alexander (Pat) Napoleon Jackson, 73, of Clearlake, went to meet his heavenly father Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2013.

He was born Aug. 18, 1940, in Washington, DC.

Alex graduated from John Swett High School in 1958 and served in the United States Air Force from 1958-62, stationed in Alaska.

He lived many years in Hayward, Calif., and retired from Del Monte Corp. in Alameda.

He relocated to Clearlake, Calif., in 1992 where he worked at Robinson Rancheria and Konocti Harbor as a pit boss and blackjack dealer.

He is survived by his wife, Glenda June Price Jackson of Clearlake; son, Steven Todd Jackson of Modesto; daughter, River Mika Coyote (Brenda Jackson) of Incline Village; his mother, Dorthia Virginia Jackson of Butler; his siblings,Andrew Joseph Jackson of Albuquerque, Dorthia Virginia Jackson Hawkins of Oklahoma City and Evelyn Kathleen Jackson of Grove City. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Dwight, Madison and Savannah Jackson of Ripon.

He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Andrew Jackson, and sister, Cindy Lee Jackson Dennison, both of Pennsylvania.

Alex was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to many. He an avid fisherman and bowler and was a volunteer umpire and little league coach who attended all his children’s games.

He loved to teach, he was generous and kind, always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. It was said that he never met a stranger.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to Praises of Zion Baptist Church.

A memorial will be held Saturday, Nov. 2, at 2:30 p.m. at Praises of Zion Baptist Church, 3890 Emile Ave., Clearlake, telephone 707-995-1319.

Heidi Ann Schmidt passed away Oct 18, 2013 after a long fight with cancer at St. Helena Hospital in Saint Helena, Calif.

She was born Jan. 13, 1968, to Patricia and James Schmidt in Daly City, Calif.

Heidi leaves behind her children, Brandon, Amanda, Lindsay, Shaina and Dylan Yaquinto; brothers, Erik and Nicholas; and parents, Patricia and James.

Heidi was preceded in death by her brother Larry, who passed in 1993.

A memorial service will be held for Heidi Wednesday, Nov. 6, at 1 p.m. at Jones & Lewis Clear Lake Memorial Chapel in Lower Lake, Calif.

Kenneth Lee Fountain
Nov. 20, 1947-Oct. 21, 2013

LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – Kenneth “Ken” Fountain, age 65, passed away Monday, Oct. 21, 2013 at his ranch, Jaguar Gardens Nursery.

He was born in Vallejo, Calif., on Nov. 20, 1947, to Arthur and Hallie Fountain.

He grew up in Vallejo and served several years in the Navy.

Ken moved to Lake County in 1986 ad worked as a machinist for more than 25 years at Pacific Gas and Electric Co. and five years as a mechanic at Calpine.

Ken was involved in many organizations and clubs like Tipsters, Lions, SIRS, Master Gardeners and Lake County's Farmers Finest; he also served on the Lake County Grand Jury.

Jaguar Gardens Nursery's plants were present at Lakeshore Feed, Steele Winery and Lower Lake Days.

Ken leaves to cherish his memories his three daughters, Sherrie (Philip) Henderson, GiaVonn (Lacy) Wright, Dana (Kelvin) Jefferson; his son, Kennathian (Michelle) Fountain; two sisters, Rosemary Fountain and Patricia (Rudolph) Burgess; brother, Arthur Fountain; sister-in-laws, Jackie Anderson and Loretta (Melody) Anderson; brother-in-laws, Harold Anderson Jr., and Aaron (Laurel) Anderson; seven grandchildren, Christopher Strong, Patrick Porche, Alexandria Henderson, Jaylen Jefferson, Jasmine Jefferson, Evan Wright and Garian Fountain; his special friends, Ellusha Diederick and Bernadine Lewis; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his wife, Dolores Fountain; parents, Arthur and Hallie Fountain; sisters, Emma Holman, Kathryn Fountain and Joanie Fountain; father and mother-in-law, Harold and Adrian Anderson, respectively; sister-in-law, Gwendolyn Stephens; and a brother-in-law, Irving Anderson.

His favorite thing to do was to sit on the porch, listen to the creek and spend time in his barn (Man Cave).

He was loved by all and will truly be missed.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, at Jaguar Gardens Nursery, 12921 Murphy Springs Road, Lower Lake, Calif.

LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – William “Bill” John Cook passed away Oct, 19, 2013, at the age of 65.

He was a great bowler.

Bill was loved by all and will be dearly missed.

LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – Judith May O'Neill, known better as “The General” at Renee's Café where she worked for eight years, passed away Oct. 20, 2013, at the age of 75.

Her favorite hobbies were eating out and she loved playing at the casinos.

She is survived by her daughters, Lisa Woodmancy and Jody Leeper; grandchildren, Deanna Landeis, Ryan Stahl, Eric, Andrea and Kirsten Elliston; and six great-grandchildren.
