Muriel Eleanor Shaw, nicknamed “Honey” by her grandson, she was known to many people simply as Honey.

She was born to Ernest and Carrie Young June 25, 1915, in West Linn County, Ore., near the Willamette River.

She passed peacefully June 25, 2012, in Lakeport on her 97th birthday.

Muriel is survived by her daughter, Gail Shaw (George) Gibson of Lakeport; grandson, Christopher (Tanya) Martin of California; great-grandchildren, Katelynn and Karson of California; brother-in-law, Robert Scagel of Canada; and nieces and nephews, Rob, Nancy, John and their families of Canada and niece Cari of Oregon.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Phyllis Scagel.

Muriel lived in many places in the world in her life but always called Petersberg, Alaska her home. Her second home was in Lakeport where she lived in the Lakeport Lagoons for the last 33 years.

Prior to moving to Lake County in 1979, Muriel lived in the Bay Area and the northwest and worked as a certified x-ray technician for more than 40 years.

She was very proud of being an x-ray tech and was a good one too.

She had a wonderful sense of humor and called many people her friends. She will be deeply missed by all her family and friends.

Love you Mom/Honey.
