KELSEYVILLE, Calif. — Richard R. White, 84, of Kelseyville passed quietly at home on Oct. 5, 2021.

His wife, Eileen White, preceded him in death. He is survived by his partner, Mitsuko Barco; his sister, Darleen Walker; his children and their spouses, Richard J. White, Daniel J. and Anna E. White, Tama M. and Steven Buck, and Melissa M. Mabery; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a large extended family.

A resident of Kelseyville and Lake County since 1964, Richard worked for Pacific Bell as a technician and in a management capacity, retiring with 30 years of service. He went on to co-found Eagle’s Nest Storage on Highway 29 South of the Clearlake Riviera.

Richard took great pleasure in dancing and dressing to the nines. He enjoyed traveling the Western United States for adventure and opportunities to visit relatives, lifelong chums and the occasional casino. Richard’s enduring love for and loyalty to his many friends and family members will be missed by us all.

A memorial will be hosted at the Riviera Hills Country Club on Saturday, Oct. 23, at 1 p.m. for his friends and family. Burial service will occur at a date to be determined. Donations to Hospice Services of Lake County are encouraged in lieu of flowers.

George D. Stokes entered into rest on Oct. 6, 2021, at the age of 74.

He was an honored Army veteran with service in Vietnam. He also had a 42-year career with PG&E.

George is survived by his twin daughters, Vicki and Mary; sister, Johnnie; brothers, Tom and Joe; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Graveside funeral services will be held at Sebastopol Memorial Lawn in Sebastopol, California, on Wednesday, Oct. 20, at 2 p.m.

KELSEYVILLE, Calif. — Friends and family are invited to a celebration of life in remembrance of Lee Cook on Monday, Oct. 18.

The celebration will begin at noon at the Ely Stage Stop and Country Museum, 9921 Soda Bay Road, Kelseyville.

Cook died at age 73 on Dec. 2, 2020.

Donations in his memory may be made to the Lake County Historical Society Blacksmith Shop project.

Nevaeh Lenee Oothoudt was born June 15, 2001, in Deer River, Minnesota.

She was a Leech Lake Ojibwe Tribal Band member and also a Robinson Rancheria Band of Pomo Indians descendant.

Navaeh planned on making California her new home and wanted to start a new life before her untimely passing.

Navaeh will be greatly missed by many friends and family members from Minnesota and California.

Like a shooting star that lights up the night sky, Nevaeh could make anyone smile or laugh and was the sweetest person you could ever meet.

She is survived by her mother, Lisa Peake; sisters, Cherice Williams, Charissa and Le Ann Oothoudt; and brothers, Cory, Joseph, Chauncey and Jamie Oothoudt.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Evelyn and Joseph Peake; father, Clayton Oothoudt III; and brother, Clayton IV.

Nevaeh's California family will be holding a private viewing at the Chapel of the Lakes Mortuary, 1625 N. High St., in Lakeport, on Tuesday, Oct. 19, from 3 to 7 p.m.

She will then make her journey home to Minnesota to be laid to rest in Onigum and say final goodbyes with family and friends.

LAKE COUNTY, Calif. — Denise Mildred Reading passed away suddenly at her home on Saturday, Sept. 25, 2021.

Denise was born on July 14, 1960, in Idaho Falls, Idaho to Marie and Calvin Gough.

Denise is survived by her loving husband of 41 years, Rich Reading, and the light of their lives, their daughter, Mariesa Reading.

She is also survived by many friends and family members including her brothers, Roger and Gary Gough; sister, Karma Fickbaum; and brother-in-law, Paul (Gloria) Reading.

Denise was the best mother and best friend to every person whoever knew her. She will be forever missed.

LAKE COUNTY, Calif. — Richard Hughes Lewis was born on Feb. 23, 1924, and passed away on Oct. 8, 2021, at the young age of 97.

Dick is very well known for his care of families in our community as the owner of Jones and Lewis Mortuary in Lower Lake from 1954 to 1981.

As a young man Dick served in World War II and is an Army veteran.

He had a strong civic responsibility, belonging to Clearlake Callayomi Masonic Lodge No. 183, Eastern Star, Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, Elks, Lakeshore Lions, Moose, Aahmes Temple Oakland and the American Legion.

He was a member of the Lower Lake Volunteer Fire Department for 40 years and a Konocti Unified School Board member for 25 years.

He was instrumental in bringing independent study to our local schools and the Richard H. Lewis Alternative School was started in his name.

Dick’s energy was never-ending. He enjoyed many motor home trips over the years and fun times with family and friends. At age 70 he hiked down the Grand Canyon. He was a kind, caring, genuine man, always willing to help wherever he could. He will be missed dearly.

Dick is survived by his wife, Betty Lewis; son, Ted (Coleta) Lewis; grandson, Troy Lewis; great grandson, Elliot Lewis; several nephews; and many good friends. He is predeceased by his son, Mitch Lewis.

Visitation will be held at Chapel of the Lakes Mortuary in Lakeport on Wednesday, Oct. 13, from 2 to 5 p.m.

Visitation will also be held at the Clearlake Callayomi Masonic Lodge No. 183 on Thursday, Oct. 14, from 9 to 11 a.m. with a funeral service to follow at 11 a.m. Private Interment will be at Lower Lake Cemetery.
