Carlos Samuel Christian Sr.
Nov. 16, 1934 – Jan. 16, 2014

NICE, Calif. – Carlos Samuel Christian Sr., 79, passed away peacefully at home in Nice.

Carlos was born in Mexico City, Mexico and moved to Lakeport as a young man.

He gained citizenship through enlisting in the armed forces. Upon honorable discharge he returned to Lakeport, purchased and leased pear orchards, following proprietorship of a restaurant, gas station and a farm labor contracting business.

Carlos loved laughing, socializing, tinkering in his shop, gardening, napping in hammocks, canning, Calvin & Hobbes, nature, teaching his children chess, reading and morning coffee at The Mecca.

His love of cooking was shown as he sang and danced in the kitchen. Carlos had a whistle that could be heard over 50 acres and was never replicated.

During his retirement years he spent his days treasure hunting in the mountains of central Mexico.

His presence will be missed.

Beloved brother, father, uncle, grandfather and great-grandfather, “Papa,” “El Gallo,” “Viejo” is survived by his brother, Jose (Gail); sons, Carlos Jr. (Yunhee), Alfonso, Paul (Ann) Neumann; daughters, Sonja Safrans, Diana (Mark) Johnson, Corina (Terry) Hull; 14 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews all of California.

Private services will be held at Chapel of the Lakes in Lakeport.

Myron Ferry

Dec. 20, 1933 – Jan. 12, 2014

LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – Myron departed from this life Sunday, Jan. 12, 2014, after a two-year battle with brain cancer.

Myron is survived by his wife, Bonnie; children, Robert of Nevada City and daughter Elizabeth of Kelseyville; grandson, Matthew of Reno, Nev.; granddaughter, Courtney of San Francisco; two sisters; and many other relatives and friends.

At his request, there will be no services.

The family prefers donations to your favorite charity or the Kelseyville Fire Department.

She was a loving woman who touched so many hearts.

Juanita joined her husband in heaven where they'll spend eternity together.

She is survived by her children, Dave, Michelle, Mike and Eric; and numerous grandchildren who will miss her dearly.

Gladys Olson passed away Jan. 20, 2014, in Chico, Calif., at the age of 91.

She is survived by her children, Colleen Phipps, Barbara Lesage, Nancy Olson, June Gerteisen, Jan Olson and Steven Olson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman “Bud” Olson.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 24, at Chapel of the Lakes Mortuary, Lakeport, Calif.

LAKEPORT, Calif. – Peter “Pete” Celio Antonini, a native of San Francisco, passed away Jan. 14, 2014, with his family at his side.

Pete has been a resident of Lakeport for 25 years and spent time in Lake County since the 1950s, when he, his wife Mary, and kids would vacation there.

Pete was a very active husband and father. He loved golfing, fishing, boating, water skiing, traveling, his beloved airplane and the casino.

Pete is survived by his children, Carolynn Capps of Lakeport, Michael (Alicia) Antonini of Nice and Susan Burch of Pinole; longtime family friend, Robert Burch; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and sisters, Sadina Petruzzelli of Vallejo, and Ann Kahler of Vacaville.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 67 years, Mary.

A celebration of Pete's life will he at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 20, at Chapel of the Lakes Mortuary, Lakeport.

LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – Lee Walter Ehling was born in San Francisco on March 9, 1943, and passed away in his sleep on Jan. 3, 2014.

He was in the U.S. Army serving in Vietnam and was honorably discharged with medals and commendations.

Lee was a marine electrician and worked on ships all around the world for 20 years.

The last 15 years of his career he worked for Exxon as an electrical contractor. He was called in as a "specialist" by Jack King of Exxon to investigate an explosion on the Exxon Philadelphia in Ana Cortez, Washington. Lee rode the disabled ship to Portland, Oregon to continue the investigation.

He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Linda, and his four cats that he dearly loved; his siblings, Helene (Dan) Henderson, Pat Dodson and Al Ehling; stepchildren, John Jackson, Jefferey (Mena) Stevens and Leslie Freund; and many cousins, nieces, nephews and grandchildren.

Lee was an animal lover, a very patient man, a true loving, gentle man with a great sense of humor. Everyone who met Lee liked him.

His wife has lost the love of her life, he will be dearly missed.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
