KELSEYVILLE, Calif. – Carol Conner of Kelseyville passed bravely from this world on Nov. 17, 2018, after a brave fight with cancer.

She is survived by her husband of 25 years, Carlos Conner; sons, Miguel Velez and Dakota McNabb; brother, Robert Styger; sister, Shellie Thomas; and numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, relatives and friends.

A celebration of life will be held at Chapel of the Lakes Mortuary, 1625 N. High St. in
Lakeport on Friday, Nov. 30, at 1 p.m.

NORTHERN CALIFORNIA – Pam Cochrane was born in Eureka, Calif., on Nov. 13, 1948, to Everett and Bette Watkins.

She passed on from her home in Roseville, Calif., on Nov. 14, 2018, after a courageous battle with Huntington’s Disease.

Pam spent her formative years and early adult life in Eureka attending local schools, graduated Eureka High School known as an excellent student, star multi-sport athlete and fierce competitor.

She attended College of the Redwoods and Humboldt State University before joining the business office at College of the Redwoods as an accountant.

Her career in accounting spanned nearly 40 years culminating with her being elected as Lake County Clerk Auditor Controller for four terms in office.

She received numerous awards from the state of California for excellence which she always attributed to her staff in the Auditor’s Office.

Pam married James “Sham” Cochrane on July 23, 1977, and they raised three children – Skip, Kristie and Corey – in Kelseyville, Calif. Family was first, second and always on her list of priorities.

She loved playing all sports, Lake Tahoe, Mt. Shasta, Little River, Virginia Beach, the Caribbean and traveling with family.

Pam is survived by her children, Gerald “Skip” L. Hunter III (Lorrie) of Pollock Pines, Calif., Kristie Stogner (Adam) of Virginia Beach, VA, and Corey Cochrane of Roseville, Calif.; husband, James “Sham” Cochrane of Roseville; mother, Bette Watkins-Merklin and husband Phil Merklin of Eureka; brother, Ray Watkins (Gwynn) of Park City, UT; in-laws Tim and Marie Cochrane and family of Ettersburgh, Calif.; Leslie and Dennis Burchfield and family of Rio Dell, Calif.; Cyndee Cochrane and family of Fortuna, Calif.; grandchildren, Treven Hunter of Girdwood, AK, Tyler Hunter of Cameron Park, Calif.,, Arianna Cochrane of Roseville, Chiara, Cameron and Cayden Stogner of Virginia Beach; and also a large, much-loved number of extended family and friends.

There will be a celebration of life on Saturday, Nov. 24, at 1600 Sunset Drive in Eureka from noon to 3 p.m.

LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – Justin Thomas Wilson entered into eternal rest on Saturday, Nov. 3, 2018.

Precious son of Jerry and Lori Wilson; special brother to Jaymie Husar and Lindsay Wilson; uncle, cousin and friend to many. Justin passed away at home at the tender age of 34 after an extended illness.

Justin was born in 1984, graduated from Kelseyville High School and lived most of his life in Lake County.

He was a proud member of People Services of Lake County where he had many friends and acquaintances.

Known as Bub to many, he will always be remembered as a person who, despite a lifelong handicap, brought joy and hope to all that came in contact with him. He had a smile that could light up a room. He was a young man full of love and happiness, patient, kind and had a great love in his heart for his Savior Jesus.

Justin, you will forever be loved and missed. You will always have a special place in our hearts. We love you son and will walk with you in heaven someday.

Visitation will be held at Chapel of the Lakes Mortuary in Lakeport on Tuesday, Nov. 13, from 10 a.m. to noon with the funeral service to follow at noon. Interment will be at Hartley Cemetery.

LAKEPORT, Calif. – Ruth Adele Craig, age 92, of Lakeport, passed on to be with her beloved husband of 68 years on Monday, Nov. 12, 2018.

She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Graveside Funeral Service will be held at Upper Lake Cemetery on Tuesday, Nov. 20, at 11 a.m.

NICE, Calif. – Jenny Valenzuela-Pettigrew, 66, passed away on Nov. 2, 2018, in Nice.

She was born Jan. 24, 1952, in Yuma, Ariz.

Jenny was formerly a resident of Oxnard, Calif., before making Lake County her home for a short period of time.

Jenny is survived by her two sons, George Valenzuela, and David Pettigrew (Jessica); her six grandchildren, Bentlee, Jennie, Ethan, Theresa Pettigrew, Matthew and Maggie Castellano; and her five great-grandchildren.

She will be deeply missed by family and friends.

LAKEPORT, Calif. – Ron Sneed passed away Nov. 2, 2018, at the age of 79.

He was born Sept. 23, 1939 to Robert and Dorothy Sneed in Lakeport.

Ron was an avid outdoorsman. He was well known throughout Northern California and especially Lake County for his knowledge about fish and wildlife. He loved to fish for bass in Clear Lake and the other surrounding lakes. In his earlier years he was a fishing guide on Clear Lake.

He best became known for the fishing lures that he manufactured. He owned Maverick Lures and made plastic worms and spinnerbaits. Many of the top professional bass fisherman used his lures.

In addition to fishing, his passion was hunting with a bow and arrow. He was an expert marksman and bagged elk in Colorado as well as wild pigs in Arizona and California. He also was successful hunting wild turkeys and deer in Lake County. He always had respect for the wild animals that he hunted.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Virginia; daughters, Carin (Jeff) Hawks and Wendy (John) Brossard; three granddaughters; two great-grandsons; and a great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Victor and Norman.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 10, at Lakeport Christian Center. Come share your memories with us.
