LAKEPORT, Calif. – Floyd Allen (Frank) Dishman was born in Portland, Ore., on July 11,1927. He passed on Feb. 13, 2014, in Lakeport.

He served in the Merchant Marine from 1944 to 1947, joining the U.S. Marine Corps in 1948 and serving with the 1st Marine Brigade in Korea.

Frank owned Dishman Painting & Dec. Co. in the Bay Area for 30 years until 1995, when he retired and moved to Lake County with his wife Irehne.

He was an avid photographer and thoroughly enjoyed ocean and fresh water fishing. He was a member and past president of Lakeport Kiwanis.

He is survived by his wife, Irehne; daughters, Deborah and Pamela; and his brother, Morley.

Interment with military honors will take place at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon on Feb. 26.

Donations may be made in his memory to Lake County Hospice or the Soper Reese Theater.

Bette A. Morse

June 21, 1933-Feb. 10, 2014

MIDDLETOWN, Calif. – Bette Ann Morse was born June 21, 1933, in Oakland, Calif., to Andrew and Helen Swanson. Bette passed away Feb. 10, 2014, at Petaluma Valley Hospital due to natural causes.

She was a lifetime member of the Order of the Eastern Star, a member of the Girl Scouts of America, Oakland Chapter and also belonged to the Lake County Model A Club.

Bette was a longtime resident of Middletown.

She is survived by her husband, Richard Morse of Middletown; brother, Dean Swanson of Houston, Texas; daughter, Deborah Forrest of Cobb, Calif.; and granddaughter Virginia Forrest of Middletown.

Services will be held at the Middletown Methodist Church on Saturday, March 15, at 11 a.m.

LAKEPORT, Calif. – Gretchen Carroll Bailey, 86, a longtime Lake County resident, passed away Feb. 4, 2014, at Rocky Point Care Center in Lakeport.

She is survived by daughter Pamela Castillo of Napa, and grandsons Andrew Love and Cameron Castillo.

A celebration of life is being planned for later this year.

LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – William Patrick Kenna, age 59, of Lower Lake, Calif., passed away on Feb. 7, 2014, at 7:30 p.m. at Kaiser Hospital in Santa Rosa, Calif., after a lengthy illness.

Patrick was born in Albany, NY to James and Virginia Kenna.

He was an avid environmentalist, and served for some time as director of several non-profit organizations. He was was the owner/operator of Earth Goods, in Middletown, Calif.

Additionally, W. Patrick Kenna was a champion of the rights of crime victims. Patrick was the petitioner in Kenna v. United States District Court, 435 F.3d 1011 (9th Cir. 2006), in which the U.S. Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals upheld and clarified for the first time the rights of crime victims under the U.S. Crime Victim’s Rights Act.

William Patrick Kenna is preceded in death by his father, James M. Kenna Sr.; his mother, Virginia Louise Beinkafner Kenna; and his sister, Eileen Landis (Bill) of Hershey, Penn.

Patrick is survived by his wonderful best friend and ex-wife Joanie Chung of Los Angeles; a son, BouJeloud Reed (Julianna) of Loudonville, New York; and two grandchildren.

He also is survived by a sister, Nechama R. (Margaret Mary) Kenna of Feura Bush, New York; brother, James M. Kenna Jr. of Tipp City, Ohio; sister, Michele K. Martin (Pat) of West Hartford, Conn.; sister, Charlene K. Reedy (Pat) of Buffalo, New York; brother, Brian J. Kenna of Ithaca, New York; sister, Ellen T. Kenna of Kenai, AK; and brother, Timothy M. Kenna (Sara) of Hood River, Ore.

Survivors also include aunt, Sister Lorraine Beinkafner of Croton-on-Hudson, New York; an uncle, Paul Beinkafner (Kathy) of Clintondale, New York; aunt, Marge Beinkafner of Latham, New York; and several nieces and nephews.

The family of Patrick wishes to extend their most sincere and heartfelt thanks to his many dear friends in the Lower Lake and Middletown communities and surrounding areas; in particular Chef Steve, Valerie Tenneson, Marta Williams, Terry Hoberg and Cynthia Smith.

The family also wishes to convey its appreciation to the professionals at Kaiser Hospital in Santa Rosa, as well as to Jeanette Sousa and the wonderful team at Jones and Lewis Funeral Home in Lower Lake.

LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – David Richmond passed away suddenly on Feb. 16, 2014.

David was an Air Force combat disabled Vietnam veteran. He worked many years as a millwright at The Geysers and the gold mine. His most recent employment was with the city and county of San Francisco, where he was an operating engineer at the Oceanside Wastewater Plant.

He leaves behind his beloved family: wife, Naomi Richmond of Lower Lake; his children, Harmony Goodman of L.A., Dan Richmond of Redondo Beach, Ted Rasmussen of Florida, Jon Rasmussen of Wisconsin and Todd Rasmussen of Wisconsin.

He also leaves his grandchildren, Trevor Rasmussen (4), Megann Dillinger (16), Erika Rasmussen (17), Casey Fox (18), Sydney Olsen (19), Kirah Rasmussen (21), Alora Paminto (21), Emma Furneau (23), Dylan Steen-Rasmussen (aka Dylan Wood 23); Krystie Rasmussen (24) and the newest granddaughter Kaia Richmond (1 month) of Redondo Beach, whom David so wanted to meet but was unable to. Lastly, he leaves behind his great-grandchildren, Hazel (8 months), Ellee (11 months), Brayden (21 months), Elysia (4 years) as well as many other extended family and friends.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, Feb. 23, at 1 p.m. with a celebration of David's life to follow at 2 p.m., officiated by his family.

LAKEPORT, Calif. – Linda Rose Cota peacefully passed away Feb. 13, 2013, at home in Lakeport.

She is survived by Selena, Laura and many friends and family.

She will be laid to rest at Chapel of the Chimes in Hayward, Calif.

Memorial services will be set at a later date.
