Michael A. Schenck
April 2, 1978-April 23, 2015

LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – A native of Lake County, Michael is the son of Richard Schenck and Mickie Main; loving father of Alexander and husband to Susan.

Voted “Most Likely to Succeed” by his 1996 Lower Lake High senior class, Michael did so, with enthusiasm.

He passionately supported computer users during his career as a certified chief technology officer employed by Konocti Unified School District and as a private consultant countywide for more than 20 years.

A vital energy in bringing robotics study to local elementary learners, Michael was key in networking Lake County students and teachers with each other and the planet, empowering new potentials.

Michael loved everything techie, but not as much as he loved his son Alex (a fledgling techie).

Along with robotics and anything geeky, some of his many hobbies included fishing, boating and exploring the beauty of Northern California, as well as board games, head games and crafting walking sticks.

A two-year struggle with brain cancer changed Michael's trajectory, but not his exuberance for life.

Well-known for his generous hugs and always-willing-to-help bravura, Michael will be missed by his family, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many local and online friends and colleagues.

Please join us for a memorial gathering to be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 7, at Austin Park in Clearlake. Bring your instruments and share your memories!

The family prefers donations to the Children's Museum of Art and Science, Box 2634, Clearlake 95422 or to Hospice Services of Lake County, 1717 S. Main St., Lakeport, 95453, online at www.lakecountyhospice.org .
