LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – Janice passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sept. 8, 2015.

Janice was born Dec. 18, 1928, daughter to Harriet and Lester Vandre. She was a big sister to Lester Vandre Jr., Susan Vandre (Graham) and Ronald Vandre.

Janice grew up in Vallejo and spent many summers living in Petaluma with her grandmother, Hattie May Lewis. After moving to Sacramento, Janice worked at the telephone company and Campbell Soup.

Janice met her husband of 53 years, Alfred Krasovec, at a church group dance. The couple resided in Sacramento and in 1962 gave birth to their only child, Diana.

Janice started working part-time and life was filled with love, life, laughter and fun-filled road trips! In later years, Janice and Al enjoyed traveling with Sports Leisure Travel to pretty much everywhere, including many exotic places like Morocco.

After Al passed away, Janice moved to Lakeport to be near Diana. In Lakeport she was involved with the Widowed Person’s Association and made many friends, had lots of fun, and for several years enjoyed traveling once again.

Life takes interesting twists, and Janice’s health began to fail when dementia set in. Janice has been living the last few years at Brookdale Assisted Living & Memory Care (formally Emeritus @ Orchard Park).

Diana would like to thank all the people, especially her dear caregivers, who touched her life and made her laugh and smile. My mom had a great life and she wouldn’t regret any of it – she was also a 40-year cancer survivor! Now she is with daddy and in God's care.

Rest in peace, Mom, and we will be together again some day and off to new adventures!

Janice is survived by her daughter, Diana Krasovec Schmidt and son-in-law Steven of Lakeport; her sister, Susan Graham of Coquille, Ore.; her sister-in-law, Doris Hughes of Sacramento; her nephews, Jeff Howton, Norman Hughes and Tom Hughes; niece, Lisa Abbott of Boise, Idaho; and her best friend since elementary school, Betty Chapton of Twin Falls, Idaho.

She will be placed eternally at East Lawn Memorial Park in Sacramento with her beloved Alfred. No services will be held.
